Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW) Machining
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, or UMHW, is a noise-reducing, lightweight, buoyant plastic that resists wear, stains, odor, solvents and chemicals. UMHW offers lower tensile strength properties than polypropylene but improved strength upon impact. UMHW is moisture resistant, presents a lower friction coefficient than some metals, and meets FDA, USDA and 3-A Dairy requirements.
