Acrylic Machined Parts
A frequent glass substitute, acrylic is aplymehyl methacrylate (PMMA), a synthetic polymer often known by the trademarks Lucite® and Plexiglass®. Lightweight but strong, acrylic is shatter resistant, offers good insulation and thermal properties, and readily transmits distortion-free light. It’s not as crack-resistant as polycarbonate and easier to scratch than glass, but more cost-effective than glass and heavier plastic materials.
